Join PSI as a Registered Behavior Technician and play an essential role in implementing behavior analysis programs designed to improve the educational experiences of students with diverse behavioral needs. This position offers the opportunity to work directly under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), applying and monitoring behavioral interventions that foster significant and positive changes in students’ lives.

A Day in the Life:

  • Session Preparation: Begin your day by preparing materials and setting up the environment for behavior intervention sessions.

  • Direct Implementation: Conduct behavioral intervention sessions with students under the supervision of a BCBA, utilizing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) techniques to encourage desired behaviors and skills.

  • Data Collection: Meticulously record data on student behaviors during sessions to track progress and outcomes, which is crucial for assessing the effectiveness of interventions.

  • Collaboration and Feedback: Participate in meetings with BCBAs to discuss student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed. 

  • Training and Development: Engage in ongoing training sessions to enhance your skills and stay updated with the latest behavioral intervention techniques. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Behavior Intervention: Implement behavioral treatment plans designed by BCBAs tailored to individual student needs. 

  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of behavioral data and session notes to ensure consistency and progress monitoring.  

  • Collaboration and Feedback: Work closely with BCBAs, school staff, and families to provide a cohesive approach to behavioral interventions. 

  • Student Engagement: Foster a supportive and positive environment for students during sessions, helping them to engage and progress effectively. 

  • Professional Growth: Engage in ongoing sessions to enhance your skills and stay updated with the latest behavioral intervention techniques. 

 

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: High school diploma required, some college coursework in psychology, education, or related field preferred. 

  • Certification: Must be a registered Behavior Technician certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). 

  • Experience: Experience working with children, particularly those with behavioral challenges, is preferred. 

  • Skills: Strong observational and analytical skills to accurately assess and record behavioral data. 

  • Professionalism: Commitment to ethical conduct and standards as set forth by the BACB and PSI.
