Join PSI as a Remedial Teacher and play a pivotal role in providing targeted instructional support to students who are experiencing difficulties in their academic journey. In this essential position, you will assess learning gaps, design and deliver personalized remedial programs, and work closely with classroom teachers to ensure that all students achieve their full potential.

A Day in the Life:

  • Assessment and Planning: Start your day by assessing students’ progress and planning personalized lessons to address specific learning gaps.

  • Focused Instruction: Conduct small group or one-on-one sessions to provide intensive teaching in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, or other core subjects.

  • Collaboration with Teachers: Meet with classroom teachers to discuss students’ needs and progress, ensuring that remedial efforts are well-integrated with the general curriculum.

  • Resource Development: Create and adapt teaching materials and exercises that cater to varied learning styles and needs.

  • Progress Monitoring: Continuously assess and document students’ progress, adjusting instructional strategies to maximize effectiveness and student engagement.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose Learning Difficulties: Evaluate students’ academic skills through appropriate assessments to identify specific learning difficulties.

  • Personalized Instruction: Develop and implement tailored instructional programs that meet the needs of students requiring additional support.

  • Collaborative Teaching: Work in partnership with general education teachers to support students’ learning plans and integrate remedial strategies.

  • Student Engagement: Engage students with customized and interactive teaching methods that enhance learning and retention.

  • Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest educational research and remedial teaching methodologies to continually refine and improve instructional practices.

 

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Certification: Valid teaching certification, with endorsements in remedial education or special education if applicable.

  • Experience: Proven experience in a teaching role with a focus on remedial education or working with students with learning difficulties.

  • Skills: Excellent communication and instructional skills, with a strong ability to adapt teaching methods to individual student needs.

  • Professionalism: A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that respects the diverse needs of students.
