Enhance Student Health and Wellbeing in an Educational Setting

Join PSI as a Registered Nurse and play a crucial role in promoting the health and wellbeing of students across diverse educational environments. This position allows you to apply your nursing skills to support student health through direct care, health education, and collaboration with school staff and families.

A Day in the Life:

  • Morning Prep: Start your day by reviewing the health needs of students scheduled for appointments and preparing the health office for the day’s activities.

  • Direct Care: Provide nursing care to students with various health needs, administer medications, and perform treatments as prescribed.

  • Health Education: Conduct health education sessions for students and staff, covering topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.

  • Emergency Response: Be readily available to respond to health emergencies within the school, providing first aid and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.

  • Collaboration and Planning: Work closely with school counselors, psychologists, and special education staff to develop comprehensive health plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Student Health Management: Assess and monitor student health, develop care plans, and ensure compliance with state health regulations.

  • Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments, maintaining meticulous records of all interventions.

  • Health Screenings: Conduct regular health screenings and assessments, such as vision and hearing tests, to identify potential health issues early.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Keep accurate and confidential health records for all students; ensure all practices comply with professional standards, state policies, and federal regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • Licensure: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the state of practice.

  • Experience: Experience in pediatric, school, or community health nursing is highly desirable.

  • Skills: Excellent clinical skills with an ability to handle medical emergencies. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with students, parents, and school staff.

  • Professionalism: High ethical standards and a commitment to student privacy and compassionate care.
