A Day in the Life:

  • Morning Set-up: Begin your day by preparing the classroom with the necessary materials, ensuring all resources are ready for the day’s lessons.

  • Instructional Support: Assist in delivering and reinforcing educational content under the guidance of the lead teacher, helping to tailor instruction to meet the needs of individual students or small groups.

  • Student Engagement: Work directly with students, providing one-on-one support to those who require additional assistance with their assignments or understanding key concepts.

  • Behavioral Support: Help manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques to maintain a conducive learning environment.

  • Resource Management: Organize and prepare educational materials and aids, ensuring they are accessible and suitable for student activities.

  • Progress Tracking: Assist in monitoring student progress and behavior, providing regular updates to the teacher and helping to adjust learning strategies as necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Assistance: Provide hands-on support in classroom settings, helping to implement educational programs and activities.

  • Learning and Behavioral Support: Assist in managing both learning and behavioral needs of students, applying strategies to promote positive outcomes.

  • Collaborative Team Member: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and other paraprofessionals to enhance instructional efforts and classroom management.

  • Educational Preparation: Help prepare for lessons by organizing materials and setting up equipment needed for classroom activities.

  • Communication and Feedback: Maintain clear and effective communication with teachers and parents, participating in meetings and providing insights on student progress.

 

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: High school diploma required; further education or training in education, special education, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: Experience working in an educational or child care setting, particularly in a role that involves working directly with children or teens.

  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with patience and a nurturing attitude towards students.

  • Professionalism: Commitment to ethical educational practices, confidentiality, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to various educational settings and student needs, with a focus on teamwork and collaborative problem-solving.
