Join PSI as a Title I Teacher and play a critical role in supporting students who are struggling academically, particularly those from low-income families. This position focuses on providing targeted instructional support to enhance students’ skills in core academic areas, helping them meet and exceed educational standards.

A Day in the Life:

  • Program Review: Begin  your day by reviewing the specific needs of students enrolled in the Title I program, planning individualized instructional strategies to address identified gaps.  

  • Focused Instruction: Conduct small group or one-on-one sessions that provide intensive teaching in areas such as reading, mathematics, and writing.

  • Collaboration with Classroom Teachers: Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate Title I support with general classroom instruction, ensuring a cohesive educational experience for students.

  • Student Assessment: Continuously evaluate the progress of your students through formal assessments and informal observations, adapting instructional methods to optimize learning outcomes.

  • Parent Communication: End your day by preparing updates for parents on their child’s progress, offering advice on how to support their children’s learning at home.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Specialized Instruction: Deliver targeted instruction designed to meet the specific educational needs of Title 1 students, aiming to raise their proficiency to grade-level standards.

  • Curriculum Development: Develop and adapt curriculum materials and activities to cater to the learning styles and needs of students at risk of falling behind.

  • Student Engagement: Engage students in meaningful and effective learning experiences, fostering motivation and academic confidence.

  • Program Coordination: Coordinate the Title I program’s activities, ensuring compliance with federal and state educational requirements and reporting standards.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Actively collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and specialists to promote an integrated approach to student learning and support.

 

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Education, with a focus on Elementary Education, Special Education, or a related field.

  • Certification: Must hold a valid teaching certification, preferably with endorsements in reading, mathematics, or special education.

  • Experience: Prior experience in a Title I or similar program is highly desirable, with a proven track record of improving student academic performance.

  • Skills: Strong instructional skills, particularly in differentiated instruction and student assessment.

  • Professionalism: A commitment to ethical educational practices and a dedication to advancing equity in education.
