In this vital role, you’ll provide comprehensive counseling that addresses the wide range of challenges students face today, from academic stress to personal development.

A Day in the Life:

  • Morning Prep: Start your day reviewing your schedule and preparing resources for the individual counseling sessions and group workshops planned.

  • Counseling Sessions: Meet with students to provide guidance on academic planning, college readiness, career exploration, and personal issues.

  • Collaborative Meetings: Participate in meetings with faculty and parents to discuss and strategize on student development plans and interventions.

  • Program Development: Work on developing and refining school-wide programs that address student needs, such as anti-bullying initiatives or mental health awareness campaigns.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Conclude your day by documenting sessions, updating student records, and preparing for upcoming presentations or parent meetings.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Individual and Group Counseling: Offer targeted counseling sessions to help students navigate their academic paths and personal challenges.

  • Educational and Career Planning: Assist students in understanding their educational and career options and making informed decisions.

  • Crisis Intervention: Provide support and intervention for students during critical times, helping to manage and mitigate crises effectively.

  • Program Implementation: Develop and implement effective programs and strategies to promote a healthy, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community members to foster a network of support for student success.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Advanced degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field.

  • Certification: Current licensure or certification as a School Psychologist in the state of practice.

  • Experience: Proven track record in psychological assessment and intervention within a school setting.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a diverse range of students, parents, and educational staff.

  • Ethical Standards: Strong commitment to ethical practice and maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of all students.
