A Day in the Life:

• Health Screening Assistance: Start your day by helping the school nurse conduct health screenings such as vision and hearing tests, ensuring all students are checked and properly documented.

• First Aid and Care: Provide basic first aid for minor injuries and assist with managing students who become ill during the school day.

• Health Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for students, recording visits and treatments provided during the school day.

• Health Education Support: Assist in organizing and distributing health education materials, and occasionally help deliver presentations on health topics relevant to the student population.

• Daily Operations: Ensure the health office is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary medical supplies.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in Nursing Tasks: Under the guidance of the school nurse, assist in providing care and monitoring student health according to established protocols.

• Documentation and Record Keeping: Keep precise records of student interactions with the health office, documenting symptoms, treatments, and follow-up actions.

• Health Promotion Activities: Support the implementation of health promotion campaigns and activities to educate the school community about health and wellness.

• Communication: Serve as a point of contact for students and staff coming to the health office, providing friendly and efficient assistance.

• Emergency Response: Assist in managing health emergencies, providing immediate support and coordinating with the school nurse for further actions.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: High school diploma required; additional certification in health services, nursing, or related field preferred.

• Experience: Previous experience in a health-related setting, particularly in schools, pediatric care, or community health, is advantageous.

• Skills: Good organizational and communication skills, basic knowledge of health care practices, and the ability to work compassionately with children.

• Professionalism: A commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice in health care, and continuous learning to improve health assistance skills.
